NORMAN, Okla. -- A-1 Electric, Heat and Air, a Norman based company, is under federal scrutiny for hiring undocumented workers. One worker has already pleaded guilty in federal court.

Federal authorities allege workers at A-1 not only hired undocumented workers, but also encouraged them to come to the U.S. According to the feds, this has been going for about five years.

Back in May, A-1 was raided by agents with Immigration Customs Enforcement and the IRS, as well as Cleveland County deputies.

They arrested five illegal immigrants and seized hiring and payroll records. A-1 employees admitted the company knowingly hired illegal immigrants.

Virginia Hudson, director of operations for A-1, pleaded guilty Monday to misprision, which is knowledge of a felony. Hudson admitted to knowingly accepting false documents from illegal workers since 2003.

Because these are federal charges, they have nothing to do with the anti-immigration law that went into effect last November in Oklahoma.

A-1 refused to comment on the allegations. Their attorney and the Department of Justice have also chosen not to comment because of an ongoing investigation.

Hudson is expected to be sentenced within 90 days. She could face up to three years in prison.
