Allergen conditions improved Tuesday, ending the Allergy Alert issued Monday.  Tuesday's counts were as follows: grass-low, weed-moderate, mold-low, tree-absent.

Oklahoma City was under an Allergy Alert Monday for very high concentration of weed pollen, according to measurements taken by The Oklahoma Allergy and Asthma Clinic.  This was the first Allergy Alert day of the Fall season, and the first Alert day since May 27, 2008.

The allergy count for Monday consisted of very high concentration of weed pollen, moderate concentration of grass pollen, and low concentration of mold spores.  Tree pollen was absent in the count, meaning the pollen did not register on the collecting strip for that 24-hour period.

An Allergy Alert day means that severe exposure symptoms to the "very high" pollen are likely to occur.  Even people with minor sensitivity to that specific pollen may experience symptoms.  Patients especially sensitive to this pollen should remain indoors as much as possible.
