OKLAHOMA CITY - Dave Tedford makes a habit of helping after hurricanes.
The Oklahoma City man took vacation from his job as a project manager for Cardinal Engineering to travel to Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina.
Earlier this month he was one a select group of volunteers picked to run the Oklahoma City evacuee shelter during Hurricane Gustav.
"It's something I'm good at, trained at it," Tedford said. "I can do it and I want to be there for my community and city."
Tedford said he couldn't continue being a Red Cross volunteer without the support of his boss and co-workers, especially during Katrina.
"A lot of the employees donated vacation days for me to stay down there, to continue helping out," he said.
