The health department investigates all allegations of misconduct at nursing homes. When it directly impacts the resident's safety, the complaint gets elevated. That's what happened here.
The state has released its findings on Bob Mill's mother and The Health Center at Concordia - and there's a lot to read through. In tonight's piece we just hit the highlights. In all, there are 66 pages outlining 10 allegations. Out of the 10, investigators found 6 were substantiated. If you'd like to read about it in detail, click on the links. The state will follow up in the next few months to see how the nursing home has corrected the problem areas. I'll let you know the final outcome.
Also, the state has a toll free hotline you can call if you need to file a complaint. It's: 1-800-747-8419
