A weak cold front is moving through Oklahoma Thursday from Kansas, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms with it.  The rain and increased cloud-cover, combined with a weakening ridge of high pressure, are lowering temperatures statewide.  Highs Thursday will be significantly cooler than highs the past week, only reaching the upper 80s in the northern half of the state and low to mid 90s in the southern half.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible through the weekend as a series of upper-level disturbances pass through the region.

The ridge of high pressure that was parked over Oklahoma and Texas the past week has moved west and will build over the western U.S., increasing wildfire danger to the region.  A trough will continue to dig across the eastern U.S.  With Oklahoma stuck in between the two systems, the state will be cooler with increased cloud-cover and a chance for showers and storms.
