Get ‘Hooked on Fishing'

OKLAHOMA CITY- The city's free "Hooked on Fishing" classes will continue through Saturday August 23.

The classes are being held at metro area lakes on select Saturdays from 8-10 a.m.

Classes are free to all children ages 5 - 15, and no permits are required for children or adults during class times. Adult supervision is required for participants under 12.

Class participants learn basic fishing skills including knot tying, casting, fish identification and fishing regulations. Staff and volunteer instructors from the City's Fisheries Management program and the State Department of Wildlife Conservation will assist anglers with their techniques.

Equipment is provided for each class.
