Dolly is back in town.  The remnants of hurricane Dolly that came ashore north of Brownsville, Texas last week moved toward the west northwest across parts of Mexico, then north into New Mexico and finally eastward to Oklahoma.

The system is quite small and not too powerful but it is helping to cause showers and thunderstorms over parts of northwest and northern Oklahoma.  It appears that we should not expect much precipitation.  With the increased cloud cover, Tuesday should be a bit cooler.

In the long term, the next 10 days, it looks like more summertime heat.  A tropical disturbance has moved off the coast of Africa but is at least 10 days or more away from the Gulf Coast if it can make it that far.

And no, the intense heat we've been having can't be blamed on global warming, at least by anyone who is really qualified to talk about such matters.  By the way, the hottest temperature ever recorded in Oklahoma was 120 F at several locations.  We are a long way from that!
