BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- Governor Rick Perry and U.S. Senator John Cornyn today will tour Hurricane Dolly damage in the Brownsville area.

Both will be flying over flood-stricken parts of South Texas as state leaders determine what help is needed. Perry already has declared 14 counties disaster areas.

The Rio Grande levees have been holding since Dolly stormed ashore yesterday.

Thousands of homes and businesses have no electricity.

During the course of the storm, authorities rescued about 30 families from high water in Cameron County. Officials say power remains out to about 60 percent of customers in Cameron County.

Hidalgo County spokeswoman Cari Lambrecht says the power grid isn't doing too well.

In Brownsville's Cameron Park colonia, residents today were clearing their yards of shingles and tree debris -- while mosquitoes feasted.
