Body found in Norman swimming pool

NORMAN, OKLA. -- A body was found Monday morning at the bottom of an apartment complex swimming pool in east Norman, police said.

A maintenance worker at the Summer Pointe Apartments, 1149 E Brooks St. called police shortly before 8:00 a.m. to report the discovery, Captain Leonard Judy said.

Officers said they tentatively identified the man as a 27-year-old resident of the complex.

The identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.

Judy said police still are investigating the death, but initially did not find any signs of foul play.

Police think the man may have drowned while swimming because he was wearing a bathing suit, Judy said.
