EDMOND, Okla. -- The masked man who scared an exercise group in Hafer Park Thursday is actually the star of a home movie.

Marvin Hughey and Erick Wright were unaware their costume had caused such a fright.

"We were out there in the morning to get the sunrise and see how the light was going to play on what he was wearing," said movie maker Erick Wright.

The infamous mask caught the attention of some frightened people working out near the shoot.

"I didn't think there was too much to be worried about," said Marvin Hughey, who wore the costume.

Then Hughey and Wright saw the news. It wasn't the kind of debut the guys were going for.

"No, definitly not. I'd rather get famous a different way," said Hughey.

When they realized they were the ones spooking park goers, they came straight to the Edmond Police Department to tell their side of the story. The guys brought the costume and the camera and got everything straightened out.

Hughey and Wright apologized for spooking anyone at Hafer Park. They said it was all in fun and they didn't intend any ill will.
