16-year-old dies, man hurt in Midwest City shooting

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. -- A 16-year-old boy was killed and another man wounded during an altercation at an apartment complex Sunday night, Midwest City police reported.

Larell Jamaz Kemp of Midwest City, died Monday morning of gunshot wounds he received about 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the courtyard of Orchard Spring Apartments, 1312 N Midwest Blvd., according to Monday's press release.

Cameron Jordon, 20, of Oklahoma City, was wounded in the leg and transported to a local hospital, police said. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said the shooter was described as a black man.
