Children at home when man shot to death
Staff and Wire Reports
Oklahoma City police are investigating the shooting death of 33-year-old Charles Crump inside an apartment on the city's northwest side.
Police say the Crump's girlfriend, 22-year-old Diana M. Barajas, called authorities about 1 p.m. Tuesday when she came home, 7000 W Britton Road Apt. #1762, and found Crump dead from a gunshot wound.
A toddler and a 4-year-old were inside the home at the time, but police Sgt. Paco Balderrama says neither was injured.
During the processing of the scene detectives found about 100 pounds of marijuana throughout the apartment, police said.
As a result, police arrested Barajas for trafficking marijuana and possession of CDS in the presence of a child, according to police.
Police said the children in the apartment, along with one other child of Barajas', were taken into protective custody.
No arrests have been made in connection with the murder. Police ask if you have any information regarding the case to call Crime Stoppers at 235-7300.
