OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A Democratic senatorial candidate plans to hit the road to introduce himself to Oklahomans.

Andrew Rice will embark on a Rice Family Caravan tour of the state July 7th through the 12th to stump for votes in his U.S. Senate bid.

Rice says since he's an underdog, he'll have to outwork his opposition in order to win.

The freshman state senator from Oklahoma City faces perennial candidate Jim Rogers in the July 29th Democratic primary.

The winner will likely face Republican incumbent Jim Inhofe in the general election. Inhofe has primary opposition from two political newcomers and one perennial candidate.

Rice plans to be in Perry, Guthrie and Stillwater on July 7th and in Lawton, Altus and Hobart on July 8th.

The next day, Rice plans to visit Muskogee, Holdenville and Hugo and in Ardmore and Tishomingo on July 10th.

On the 11th, he's set to arrive in Oologah, Nowata and Tulsa and also plans on stopping off in McAlester and Shawnee on the 12th.
