Three convicts escape Kay County jail

Three prisoners escaped the Kay County jail last night, the Kay County undersheriff said.

Three prisoners have escaped a Kay County jail, Kay County undersheriff said Friday morning.

The undersheriff said jailers discovered 23-year-old Donald Chapman, 40-year-old Darrin Deewayne Muegge and 20-year-old Christopher Barrera were missing between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Thursday night.

The escapees have not been seen since.

Authorities said Chapman is awaiting trial on a felony assault charge with a dangerous weapon. Muegge is awaiting trail on drug charges and has been convicted before on burglary as well as escape charges. Barrera is also awaiting trial on escape and arson charges. He has prior convictions for possession and arson.
