Oklahoma has an extensive horse industry and is home to many equine enthusiasts. Saturday, one particular team of horses celebrated a special milestone.
The Express Personnel Clydesdales celebrated their 10th anniversary Saturday. The Clydesdales are primarily known for promoting the business Express Personnel Services but are also world champion show horses.
The Clydesdales have made appearances in many nationally recognized parades and won numerous awards at contests in the United States and Canada.
Saturday the Express Clydesdale Ranch hosted a free barn party for children and donations will be made to Children's Miracle Network.
A few facts about Clydesdales include they are an average of 17 hands tall and weigh more than 2,000 pounds. Their feet alone weigh three pounds and are about the size of dinner plates. The ranch staff said people from all over the world have come to Yukon just to see the horses.
"There's people from all over the world come here to see our barn, see our horses, meet our people and I think we're just an extension of what Oklahoma is all about," Express Clydesdales Vice President Doug Sauter said.
The Express Clydesdales are unique in that only 10 percent of the Clydesdale population has black and white markings.
