Delegate derby: Race to the White House

As the race to the White House continues, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama continue to battle through state-by-state in hopes of securing the superdelegates.

There are 10 superdelegates from Oklahoma. Some of those 10 have decided who their vote is going to, while others remain uncommitted.

Governor Brad Henry is among the superdelegates from Oklahoma supporting Obama, despite Clinton's victory in the state's primary.

Keith Gaddie, a professor of Political Science at the University of Oklahoma, said superdelegates mean everything right now.

"Superdelegates were created for this exact scenario to pick a nominee when no overwhelming front-runner was out there," Gaddie said.

Gaddie said in order for Obama to win, he'll need the commitment of about 400 superdelegates.

There are 795 total superdelegates, meaning he'll have to win roughly half of them.

While some of the superdelegates support Obama, others said they don't like to be put in that position. Many of them have their own elections to run.

So far, only one superdelegate, Betty McElderry, has come out for Clinton, but Gaddie predicts the Clintons won't quit.

"They're like zombies coming out of the graveyard. You beat them down with a shovel, and they just keep coming back," Gaddie said.

Even though Congressman Dan Boren hasn't made up his mind, he said it will be difficult to go against the vote of the people, and that would be a Clinton vote.

If Clinton doesn't quit, the nomination may not be wrapped up until the Democratic National Convention which is in August.
