The Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation has a new program to help you help a public school in your area. It's already supplied free computers to kids who don't own one.

Computers are so prevalent that we tend to think everyone has one, but many public school students in the metro don't. But that's changing, thanks to a new program.

Isaac McCaslin--an eighth-grader at Belle Isle School--can't wait to take his computer home. It's been hard not having one at home.

"I couldn't do any research, or do my papers," McCaslin said. "I have a lot of projects and since I don't have internet I couldn't look up things or Google."

McCaslin is one of nine students that will get a computer to take home. The used, but still functional computers were donated by the doctors at a Norman dental clinic.

"We were interested in having kids use them. I think it's important for kids to be able to use computer and know computers, I know there is always a need for that," Dr. Jim D. Spurgeon with Smile Solutions said.

The dentists made their donation through the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation--which has set up a ‘teachers' warehouse' where teachers can pick up all sorts of school supplies for free.

"These kinds of donations allow teachers the opportunity to help build student learning in their schools without spending out of their own pocket," Robin Hilger with the OKC Public Schools Foundation said.

The program is only in its infancy, but McCaslin thinks it's already a success.
