LONE GROVE, Okla. - Carter County authorities said they are investigating the theft of money from a community fundraiser for an ill man.

Doctors from around the country haven't diagnosed Casey Clinton a year after a disease started to ravage his body, Clinton said.

To help Clinton with his treatments, community members hosted a fundraiser in February at the local Moose Lodge. Clinton said about $1,000 from the fundraiser disappeared.

After he discovered the money was never deposited in the account set up for him in an Ardmore bank, Clinton contacted the Carter County sheriff.

Sheriff Ken Grace said an investigation has identified two possible suspects.

"It's very sad," he said.

Grace has not released the names of the possible suspects.

If you'd like to make a contribution to help defray Casey Clinton's medical bills, send a donation to the First Bank and Trust Co. bank at 301 West Main, Ardmore, Oklahoma 73402.
