The Sinclair refinery will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony Friday to kick off the oil company's billion dollar expansion at its Tulsa facility.

The expansion could increase the facility's daily output of gasoline and diesel by 60 percent, said the company, helping ease the gasoline price-crunch in the future.

Company officials said the expansion will include an increase of the refinery's daily output of gasoline and diesel.  At the same time, they say their will be a reduction in air emissions from the west Tulsa plant.

Sinclair officials expect to begin construction later this year with completion scheduled for 2010.
