Keys to a successful exercise plan

Knowing where to start with a workout plan can be a little overwhelming. 

Nancy Shildler and Elizabeth Meade from INTEGRIS Pacer Fitness have been assisting our Metro Fitness Challenge contestants with their training program and this week these ladies show us where to begin with an exercise program.

"When you first start off an exercise program, you don't know how to listen to your body," said Shidler. "By starting with the larger muscle groups, you will get a feel for what that is like."   

The trainers stress the key to being safe and successful is to start slow and gradually begin to intensify the workout.

"The way you progress is by simply adding a few more repititions and then after that, adding a little bit of weight," she said.

Though the weight loss has been slow for the Bylers and McCurdys, the exercise plan INTEGRIS has for them has been very successful. Both couples said they see a significant improvement since beginning the plan.

"All four of them there whole body is more slender, they have more energy, they feel better about themselves," said Meade.

There are no more excuses in the book for the Bylers and McCurdys they have made exercising a priority and enjoy the changes they are seeing.  Both couples also want to encourage all of Oklahoma to not to put it off anymore if they can do it, you can too.
