Bartlesville, Okla. -- A 38-year-old man died after leading an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper on a short-lived car chase Tuesday night, troopers said.

Alan Darnell Walker ran a stop sign on Bison Road at U.S. 60 around 9 p.m. Tuesday. A nearby trooper tried to pull Walker over, but he kept driving.

According to troopers a car-chase began, ending with Walker slamming into a traffic light truck parked on the median.

Walker was ejected from his car and died at the scene, read the report.

The trooper's report noted the smell of alcohol at the scene; however, no set cause for the crash has been determined yet.
