A two-year-old boy suffered second and third-degree burns after allegedly falling into a backyard fire pit on SE 104 St. near Sooner Road Monday evening, officials said.

Officials said the child, Deen Kainnan, was taken to the hospital with burns to 30 percent of his body.

Police said no one witnessed the boy fall into the fire pit, but they are considering this an active investigation. Police said they intend on questioning a five-year-old child and Kainnan's parents.

Kainnan was taken to the Cincinnati Shriners Hospital in Ohio for treatment Tuesday, said authorities.
