The threat for severe weather continues through Monday night for the northern half of the state.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 3 a.m. for northern Oklahoma including the northern and western parts of the metro. The main threats with these storms will be large hail and damaging winds.

The tornado watch that was in effect earlier this evening is cancelled.  Earlier this afternoon, though, a severe storm just south of the Red River produced a tornado in north Texas. A brief tornado touched down at about 5 p.m. 2 miles northwest of Electra in Wichita County.

The next best chance for severe storms returns Wednesday to Oklahoma.
