Severe weather is possible across much of Oklahoma for the next several days as showers and thunderstorms are expected across the state throughout the week.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday evening for portions of Greer and Kiowa counties in southwest Oklahoma and Beckham and Washita counties in western Oklahoma.

A flood warning also was issued Sunday for the Poteau River, which was expected to reach flood stage Sunday evening.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected to continue overnight Sunday, with overnight lows ranging from the mid 40s in the Panhandle to the mid 60s in the south.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected to continue Monday, with showers and thunderstorms likely across the state as highs reach into the 70s in eastern Oklahoma to the lower 80s in the southwest.

A chance for showers and thunderstorms will continue Monday night as temperatures dip into the 30s in the Panhandle to the mid 50s in southeast Oklahoma.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 50s in northern Oklahoma to the upper 60s in southeast Oklahoma.

A chance for showers and thunderstorms will continue on Wednesday and Thursday across the state, with highs mostly in the 50s and 60s and overnight lows ranging from the mid 30s in northeast Oklahoma to the mid 40s in the southeast.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to be isolated to eastern Oklahoma on Friday, with highs in the 60s statewide and overnight lows from the lower 40s in the Panhandle to the lower 50s in southeast Oklahoma.
