Mother blames son for apartment blaze

An Oklahoma City mother says her 20-year-old son is to blame for starting an apartment fire on Friday.

Firefighters battled the three-alarm fire Friday afternoon at the Heritage Point Apartments, 2626 N Kelley Ave.

Stephanie Blackmon said her son used a cigerette lighter to look underneath a bed for a dead mouse and the lighter ignited a blanket.  The fire then spread through several apartments.

Firefighters said everyone escaped the building and no injuries were reported.
