Have you ever flipped through a magazine and noticed the pages turn right to those small inserts? Usually they're subscription slips or perfume ads, but I've found, with some inspection, they might be money savers.

Take for instance a recent issue of "Ladies' Home Journal." As I opened the magazine, the pages flopped open to one of those inserts. This one, however, wasn't a subscription offer; instead, it was a coupon! To my surprise, it was a $25 coupon for Coldwater Creek, a women's clothing store. The coupon allowed for $25 off of a $75 or more purchase at the store.

As I kept looking through the magazine, I found some coupons for frozen pizza, coffee creamer, juice, sugar and even air freshener and prescription medicine. If I used those coupons at any metro area Homeland store, the savings would double up to a dollar!

So the next time you find yourself browsing through a magazine to see the latest fashion trends or hair styles, take a second look at those inserts, they might end up helping you save a lot of cash.
