Police are searching for a suspect linked to five recent rapes in northwest Oklahoma City.

The man targeted women living in apartments. The first rape occurred in November. The most recent attack was reported last weekend, police said.

Victims described their assailant as a thin black man, Oklahoma City police Sgt. Gary Knight said.

In each case the attacker held a weapon and tricked his victims  into letting him inside their apartments.

"Five of these types of attacks -- all in apartment complexes, all in the same part of town  -- is unusual," Knight said.

"Obviously that is his intent is to get inside; typically he started knocking on the door, but in other cases he's forced his way in," Knight said.

Anyone with information, should call Crimestoppers at 235-7300.
