It could have been Janet Eckel's lucky day when she pulled into a parking spot in front of a Western Wear store in south Oklahoma City. She found something lying on the ground.

"I looked down and saw this wallet as he was pulling in; I opened my door and reached out and got it," Eckel said.

When she opened it, it was bulging with well over $1,000.

"When I saw hundred dollar bills in there I thought, this lady has got to be frantic," Eckel said.

So she looked around the lot, saw no one, and took the wallet home to start searching for its owner. She had a name, and a few addresses, but the phone numbers listed were all wrong.

"So I called the station and I told them I had found this wallet, and all the information that I knew that I had at the time," Eckel said.

That's when I got on the Internet and began searching for a girl named Noelle. I thought she may have lived in Choctaw, or Stillwater, based on the information I had. Then I found her, in Edmond.

Noelle Mansour said she was thankful for Eckel's honesty.

"As you can tell, there's everything in here," Mansour said. "I wouldn't believe somebody would actually return that much money in this day. I thought I lost everything."

It's Eckel's honesty that's made a difference in Noelle's life. Not only because of the money returned, but also because of the identity that was salvaged.

"Thank goodness for these good old Okie people," Mansour said. "That's all I can say, because I'm from the East Coast. Never thought I'd come to a place like this."
