First responders in Oklahoma City opened their doors Saturday, to show how they help during emergencies.
Several families toured the Central Oklahoma chapter of the American Red Cross. Today's open house kicked off Heroes Month. Organizations are raising $1,000 at a time to support the disaster relief agency.
"What many people don't realize is that we respond to disasters every day," Vince Hernandez of the American Red Cross said. "We have people that go to over 300 house fires every year."
During Saturday's open house, children were able to learn about basic first aid.
