A Norman woman faces criminal charges that involve drinking, driving and great bodily injury.

Kimberly Diane Griffith, 23, faces two counts of causing an accident with great bodily injury while driving under the influence of alcohol.

About 1 a.m. on Feb. 4, two cars were parked along this stretch of Interstate 35. Juan and Maria Garcia were helping their daughter change a tire. Authorities said a third car driven by Griffith struck both parked vehicles.

The OHP trooper on the scene noticed Griffith had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, slurred speech, and he noticed she was unsteady on her feet.

Crystal Garcia's parents were both hospitalized with broken bones. She said she's mad at Griffith.

"It's really hard to have sympathy for someone like that, and because of what it's caused for our family," Garcia said.

Conviction on these charges carries a sentence of one to five years and a fine up to $5,000.
