Authorities have arrested a man they say called in a threat that placed three southwest Oklahoma school districts on lock down Thursday.

Schools in Lawton, Chickasha and Marlow were on lockdown this morning after police received a telephone threat.

The threat reportedly came from a group of people saying they wanted to "disrupt the schools and firearms could be involved."

Since no specific school was mentioned, officials decided to lock down all campuses, Lawton school spokesman Keith Mitchell said.

Classes continued, but parents could pick up their children if they wish.

Jim Glaze, superintendent at Chickasha, said the schools in that community were on external lockdown. There are 2,000 students in that system. Extra police are also at the schools.

Marlow schools were on lockdown as a precaution.
