The number of stomach flu cases is on the rise around the metro.

Health officials are encouraging businesses to remind employees to be careful to prevent the bug from spreading. Their recommendations include washing your hands for at least 20 seconds and being diligent about cleaning surfaces.

"We've been seeing a lot of positive attitude with the businesses, because it's their customers as well as themselves that they affect, so they're just as susceptible to the virus as anyone," said H.R. Holman, Oklahoma City-County Health Department spokesperson.
