LAKELAND, Fla. -- Dollar General stores nationwide are pulling some Valentine's Day lollipops from its shelves after a shopper said she found a metal object in one of them.

Lisa Potter of Mulberry, Florida, said she bought a bag of Pokemon 10 Valentine Cards and Pops last week and noticed last night that a piece of metal was sticking out of from one of the candies.

Investigations are under way and the Polk County Sheriff's office has issued a safety warning.

"Dollar General is very concerned about this discovery and, in light of today's Valentine's Day holiday, would like to encourage all customers who may have purchased the Pokemon Valentine Cards and Pops to refrain from consuming it until we know more," said Richard Dreiling, chief executive officer of Dollar General.
