State lawmakers and government officials say they will have less money this year than they originally thought because of declining revenue.

State Treasurer Scott Meacham says the state's general revenue fund was down about $38 million.

Corporate income tax attributed to the majority of the decline, but personal income tax and sales tax collections also fell. That puts the state nearly 5 percent below estimates used to build this year's budget.

The general revenue fund pays for most government functions.
