Minors would not be able to buy certain cough syrups in a bill that has already cleared a Senate committee.

Legislators say teens are using cough syrups that contain dextromethorphan to get high.

The bill would also prevent people under 18 from buying spray paint, which can be used as an inhaled intoxicant. The measure now heads to the full Senate.
