So Kevin Hart faked it all. The 6'5 Nevada high schooler faked his own signing with the Cal Bears...faked his own recruitment...faked his own press conference...FAKED IT ALL!
I can relate. I spent all day Wednesday on the radio and television faking my enthusiasm for the most overrated day on the sports calendar. National Signing Day is the equivalent of getting all your gifts in October and November then sitting around and staring at them on Christmas Day. What's the fun in that?
National Signing Day arrives with all the pomp and circumstance of the NFL Draft. Except in the NFL Draft you don't already know where everyone is going. That's the point of the draft!
National Signing Day is like going to a mystery movie and your buddy tells you who did it on the way in. It's got all the drama of a bookstore poetry reading. I'm not a recruiting nut, but I'm necessarily annoyed by those who are. I like soccer for Pete's sake so to each his own. But I vote for everyone keeping their college choices secret until signing day. Now that would be fun! That would be like Christmas. Coaches would be having heart attacks, but at least I would be entertained.
If faking signing day is a crime. I'm turning myself in.
