John McCain edged out Mike Huckabee as the Republican presidential primary winner in Oklahoma.

The Arizona senator won 32 of the 38 Republican delegates from the state, with former the Arkansas governor picking up the remaining six.

McCain took advantage of the winner-take-all provision in nine of the other GOP contests to grab the lion's share of the delegates at stake: 511, compared to 176 for Mitt Romney and 147 for Mike Huckabee.

McCain seized a commanding lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Overall, McCain now has 613 delegates, more than half the 1,191 needed to nominate.
