Delegate races tight heading into Super Tuesday

According to an Associated Press analysis, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has the lead in the Democratic race for delegates -- for now. But Super Tuesday and its nearly 1,700 delegates could shake things up.

The New York senator has won 261 delegates compared to Barack Obama's 195. Obama has won more delegates in the primaries and caucuses so far. But Clinton has more support from superdelegates -- made up of party and elected officials who can pick anyone.

Because Super Tuesday's delegates will be doled out proportionally, it will be difficult for either candidate to take a commanding lead.

Republicans have a better chance of deciding a clear front-runner because 9 of the states are winner take all. Senator John McCain has 101 delegates compared to Mitt Romney's 93. There are just over GOP 1,000 delegates at stake tomorrow.
