Deputy dies in crash

A Latimer County deputy sheriff died in a car crash early Monday morning.

WISTER, Okla.-- Dustin Duncan, a Latimer County deputy sheriff, was found dead at the scene of a car crash on Highway 270 at 5:55 a.m., said police. The collision occured on Highway 270, three miles west of Wister in LeFlore County. 

The 28-year-old deputy of Cameron, Okla. was driving a police car when he went left of center and struck another vehicle about three miles west of Wister. The other driver, Brannon Oden of Cedarville, Ark., was released from a LeFlore County hospital not long after the collision, said police.

Officials said Duncan was pinned for about two hours before he was freed by Wister Fire and Rescue.
