A propane leak caused a fire at the Gary Williams Energy Corp.'s Wynnewood oil refinery at about 2 a.m. Friday morning, said Wynnewood Police Chief Ken Moore. Highway 77 was closed for a while and was re-opened by 6 a.m. No injuries were reported.

The fire was squelched within the hour, but the leak took about three hours to control, said the chief. No evacuations were needed and the air quality was being monitored.

Friday's fire paled in comparison to last year's fire when over 20,000 barrels of oil caught on fire, sending flames over 60 feet into the air.
