The Polar Plunge

NEWS 9's own Doug Warner is ready to take the <A href="http://www.sook.org/LETR2PolarPlunge.html" target=_blank>Polar Plunge</A>!  On Saturday, March 8, 2008, he will join other brave souls to take a dip in the frigid water at the <A href="http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&appID=94&storeID=28" target=_blank>Bass Pro Shop</A> in Oklahoma City.

NEWS 9's own Doug Warner is ready to take the Polar Plunge! On Saturday, March 8, 2008, he will join other brave souls to take a dip in the frigid water at the Bass Pro Shop in Oklahoma City.

Doug hopes you'll help him help others by sponsoring his Polar Plunge. Participants in the 7^th annual Polar Plunge help raise money for Special Olympics Oklahoma. Doug's goal is $2,000, but organizers hope to raise at least $30,000 for Special Olympics Oklahoma. You can support Doug's plunge by visiting www.firstgiving.com/dougwarner or call 1-800-722-9004 and donate in Doug's name.

Even if you're not taking the plunge, it's an entertaining day for the entire family, since many polar plungers show up in costume for the event. There are three Polar Plunges this year. They are:

Saturday, March 1, 2008, 11:00 am Arrowhead-Thunderbird Resort, Tahlequah
Saturday, March 8, 2008, 11:00 am Bass Pro Shop in Broken Arrow
Saturday, March 8, 2008, 11:00 am Bass Pro Shop in Oklahoma City
