Organization pushes to fix Oklahoma roads

Posted: Updated:

Many big issues are in the spotlight in anticipation of our upcoming legislative session.

Advocates are coming together today in support of efforts to fix our roads.

The transportation revenues used strictly for Transportation Coalition announced the "fix our roads - be for it" campaign. The campaign is a push to pass legislation this session to stop the diversion of road funds.

The organization wants lawmakers to earmark about $200 million from vehicle tags and fees to highways. Right now that money goes into the state's general fund and is used for education and other programs.
