Firefighters are bracing for what they calling the worst grass fire seasons on record.

Firefighters across the state responded to fires Sunday. An extremely wet summer and last month's ice storm have produced a lot of weeds, grass and tree debris providing fuel for fires.

"We are faced with a huge, potential fire problem, possibly even greater than what we had a year or two years ago," Oklahoma City Battalion Chief Bobby Lax said.

So far there is no statewide burn ban. Lax asked people use caution when burning trash and disposing of lit cigarettes.
