It may be an understatement to say Asher Clift loves Pokémon.

Asher, 5, trades the cards with friends. Then he brings them home to show his mother which new ones he added to his already impressive collection.

"Oh he loves Pokémon," said Asher's mom, Darci Clift. "For him to part with any part of his collection is a miracle in itself because he normally would not part with anything. He's willingly giving up fifty of his cards."

He's giving up those 50 cards for his uncle, Vance Roper. Asher is auctioning the cards on eBay.

"I want him not to get sick anymore," Asher said.

Vance was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a serious disease in which the heart muscle becomes inflamed and doesn't work as well as it should.

"They put him on the transplant list," Darci said. "They thought he was going to need an immediate transplant, but through some small miracle his heart has improved and is now at about 60 percent. There is still a possibility of a transplant."

Vance regularly calls Asher and his family, but this time instead of just calling to say hello, he's calling to thank Asher.

"To have family like that and to have people to help you raise money for things I think is totally outstanding," Vance said.
