Yukon Pom Squad wins national championship

The Yukon Pom Squad returned home Sunday with three national championships.

The squad competed this week in the American Showdown in Fort Worth, Texas. The team got a police escort and a crowd of support as they unloaded their trophies and banners.

"Well it was really difficult and we had a lot of tough competition, but we ended up pulling it out and getting first place," Cheerleader Courtney Witte said. "We're national champions."

The girls said they competed against the best dance and cheer squads in the region.
