Murder suspects turn themselves in to authorities

Robert Lynn Owens and his girlfriend Michelle Dees turned themselves in for the murder of a 28-year-old man.

On Thursday, Robert Lynn Owens and his girlfriend Michelle Dees turned themselves in for the murder of a 28-year-old man.

Authorities said Owens shot and killed 28-year-old Jeffrey Tackett inside Owens' Spiro home early Saturday morning, January 5. Owens and Dees had allegedly been on the run from authorities since the shooting.

Oklahoma State Board of Investigation agents and Le Flore County Sheriff's deputies spent days running leads on Owens' whereabouts until the two turned themselves in at the Le Flore County Courthouse.
