CATOOSA -- A Shawnee woman died in a one-car accident early this morning on Interstate 44 near Catoosa in Rogers County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said 26-year-old Stephanie M. Howe died at the scene of the accident, which happened about 1:10 a.m.

Troopers say an eastbound Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed when its driver lost control, causing the car to roll once before coming to rest on its wheels. It is not yet known who was driving the car.

Howe was ejected 12 feet from where the car came to rest. The other person in the car, 31-year-old Denny W. Bowman of Inola, also was ejected but survived. He was treated and released from a Tulsa hospital.
