'Mocktails' event offers alternative to alcohol

A contest promoting an alcohol-free alternative to cocktails inspired many to attend the recent 'Mocktails' event downtown.

The event offered a chance for the first-place winner to take away a cash prize for an original "Mocktail."

Participants used spices, flavored extracts and creams to create a drink simulating a cocktail.

The first-place winner took home a $1000 cash prize.
