More than two weeks since the ice storm, there are still a few families without power. Oklahoma Gas & Electric said electricity has been restored to all of its customers. The problem is not with OG&E, the problem lies much closer to home.

Bad meter boxes are to blame for why many families are still left without electricity. Renters like Robert Iacobucci are not getting much help from their landlords either.

When the ice storm first hit Oklahoma, Robert Iacobucci's home was just like more than half a million others--without electricity. Seventeen days later, his electric lines are back up but his power is still off.

"It's frustrating--beyond frustrating," said Iacobucci.

OG&E restored power to Iacobucci's neighborhood and theoretically his home last week, but thanks to his faulty electric meter box he's still in the dark. OG&E can't turn the power back on until Iacobucci's landlord fixes the box. And Iacobucci said his landlord is waiting to see if Federal Emergency Management Agency will pay for repairs.

"She's telling me to be patient," he said. "I guess she's hoping to get assistance before she comes and gives me assistance."

So as his family prepares to spend another night in a dark home, Robert is thankful he at least has a gas fire place. The gas heat warms up two bedrooms a little, but he can't wait for the day when his lights come back.

Robert's landlord  originally told NEWS 9 she wasn't fixing the problem until she was reimbursed by FEMA. However, she now said she's hiring a private electrician to fix the problem.

If you rent and are still without power, call OG&E.  Your landlord may have forgotten about you. Once a problem like a bad meter box is fixed, OG&E is promising to reconnect power within 24 hours.
