Flames force another Oklahoma City family out of their home. They had no electricity for 11 days, and then when the power was switched back on, fire broke out.

Tiffany Foreman's happy homecoming didn't last long.

"It was like pop, pow and smoke was coming out," Foreman said.

She went back in her bedroom and knew she had to get out. The fire crew doused the flames, they saved what they could.

"When we came in and we saw they had tried to cover up the gifts so they wouldn't be damaged, I was really surprised," Foreman said.

But some of Foreman's hard earned possessions are damaged beyond repair.  Her Stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, microwave, basically anything that was plugged into an electrical socket is ruined.

The fire investigation report says the utility crew, Chain Electric Company from Mississippi, incorrectly re-connected the wires, causing the home to become dangerously energized.

"You trust in those types of people that they know what they're doing," Foreman said.

The mistake has forced Foreman and her family back out of their home. The situation has put a damper on what's supposed to be a happy time of year.

"My nine year old said it felt like we didn't have a home, that hurt," Foreman said. "It's bad to happen anytime of the year, but the holidays and I just want to try and make it as good as possible for the kids."

Chain Electric has put Foreman and her family in a hotel and plans to pay for repairs. A company spokesman says the crew couldn't have tested the wires first, because the meter box was locked. They also said because of that, they should have waited to re-connect the power.
